Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivan Mrkic received today a courtesy call from the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium to the Republic of Serbia, Leo D'aes.

Both sides assessed in the talks that their bilateral relations had been very good and based on traditional friendship. The interlocutors agreed that marking the centenary of the outbreak of WWI was an excellent opportunity for further improvement of cooperation.

Minister Mrkic assessed that the path towards the European Union was Serbia's strategic aim, expressing the country's readiness to continue the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, despite all the difficulties.

Ambassador Leo D'aes pointed out that a considerable interest exists in the improvement of cooperation, particularly in the area of the economy, and he showed Belgium's readiness to assist Serbia on its path towards European integration.
