MFA Ivan Mrkic meets Austrian Minister for European and International Affairs Sebastian Kurz

Mrkic - KurcMinister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivan Mrkic talked today with the Minister for European and International Affairs of Austria, Sebastian Kurz who is on an official visit to the Republic of Serbia.

The main topics of their discussions were continuation and strengthening of the political dialogue, further development of bilateral, especially economic cooperation, European integration, cooperation in the framework of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region, the dialogue with Pristina, as well as the situation in the region.

Both Ministers agreed that the promotion of the political dialogue and overall bilateral relations was in their mutual interest.

MFA Ivan Mrkic particularly emphasized the interest in developing economic relations and increasing Austrian investments in Serbia. He also expressed gratitude for increasing the Austrian contingent in Kosovo and Metohija.

Minister Sebastian Kurz underlined that Austria would continue to support the Republic of Serbia in the forthcoming negotiation process with the EU and emphasized willingness to provide advisory, technical, educational and other assistance, particularly in the area of twinning projects.

During his visit to Belgrade, Minister Sebastian Kurz met with Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic and First Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic.
