Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivan Mrkic and Japanese Ambassador to the Republic of Serbia Masafumi Kuroki signed today, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, the Agreement on the Grant of the Government of Japan to Serbia amounting 200 million Japanese yen (about US$ 2 million).

As part of the grant, the Republic of Serbia will receive new, high-quality and technologically advanced products from Japanese small and medium-sized enterprises in the fields of medicine, elimination of consequences of natural disasters, environmental protection and professional training.

On this occasion, Foreign Minister Ivan Mrkic expressed deep gratitude for the grant provided by the Government of Japan, as well as for the overall humanitarian, development and technical assistance that has been sent so far from Japan to Serbia.

Foreign Minister Ivan Mrkic emphasized our interest in further improvement of overall relations with Japan, the country we are tied to by a 132 year-long tradition of friendship.
