Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivan Mrkic talked today with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cyprus Ioannis Kasoulidas.

They exchanged views on the results achieved in the cooperation between the two states in the previous period and the possibilities for opening new joint projects, especially in the light of the recent accession negotiations between Serbia and the EU.

Minister Mrkic pointed out that bilateral relations between the two countries were at a very high level, as also manifested in the holding of the annual joint session between the governments of the two countries.

Minister Kasoulidas reiterated the position of Cyprus not to recognize the unilaterally declared independence of Kosovo and Metohija.

During his visit to Belgrade, the Cypriot Foreign Minister met with the highest state leaders of Serbia, as well as His Holiness the Patriarch of the Serbian Orthodox Church Irinej.
