Greek Deputy Prime Minister Evangelos Venizelos to visit Belgrade

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Hellenic Republic, Evangelos Venizelos, will visit Belgrade on 18 February, in the capacity as the Greek Presidency of the Council of the EU.

Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivan Mrkic will play host to the Greek official. During his visit to Belgrade, Venizelos will also meet President Tomislav Nikolic, Prime Minister Ivica Dacic, and First Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic.

Main topics of the talks will include Serbia's further progress on its path towards European integration, the situation in the region, and bilateral relations.

Greece, which has traditionally supported the progress of the West Balkan region towards EU membership, assumed the six-month Presidency of the Council of the EU on 1 January 2014.

Venizelos will be visiting Belgrade within his tour of the Western Balkan countries.
