Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivan Mrkic will be participating, today and tomorrow, at the Conference on the EU Strategy for the Adriatic and Ionian Region, in Athens.

The Conference is the key step in the preparation of the EU Strategy for the Adriatic-Ionian Region, whose adoption is planned for autumn 2014, during Italian EU Presidency. Ministers of foreign affairs of the regional countries will extend their contribution and support to the adoption of this document.

The Conference was preceded by the meeting of the Adriatic-Ionian Council, attended by the ministers of foreign affairs of the Adriatic-Ionian Initiative.

On the fringes of the meeting, Foreign Minister Mrkic had a bilateral meeting with the Foreign Minister of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Zlatko Lagumdzija.
