MoldaviaState Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Dr. Snezana Jankovic had talks today with Minister of Defence of the Republic of Moldova Vitalie Marinuta, who is visiting the Republic of Serbia at the invitation of Minister of Defence Nebojsa Rodic.

In the talks it was stated that the relations between the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Moldova were friendly and readiness was expressed to promote political dialogue and overall cooperation, especially in the economic sector.

The Minister of Defence of the Republic of Moldova underlined that his country wanted to develop and strengthen cooperation with the Republic of Serbia, which was seen as a primary partner in the Western Balkan region. He particularly emphasized the great progress made by Serbia in European integration, and expressed an interest of Moldova to draw upon its experience. At the same time, he welcomed the future OSCE Chairmanship of the Republic of Serbia in 2015.

State Secretary Dr. Snezana Jankovic conveyed gratitude of the Republic of Serbia for the support of Moldova to the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the Republic of Serbia, as well as satisfaction with the decision of the Moldovan side to send its troops to KFOR in Kosovo and Metohija at the beginning of 2014.
