Consultations between the MFA of the Republic of Serbia and the MFA of the Republic of Belarus

Damjan JovicBilateral political consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus were held in Belgrade, on 3 December 2013, at the level of Assistant Foreign Ministers for Bilateral Cooperation.

During the talks, held in an open and cordial atmosphere, it was commonly assessed that the relations between the two countries were developing in the spirit of traditional friendship and understanding. The two sides expressed their expectation that the political dialogue would be further promoted at the highest and high levels, and that cooperation would be intensified and deepened in all the areas of mutual interest. Particular emphasis was laid on the importance of further developing economic relations.

The delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Yelena Kupchina, was received by Foreign Minister Ivan Mrkic, who expressed his satisfaction with the overall, dynamic development of cooperation between the two Ministries and the two states. MFA Mrkic also underlined that the visit of President of the Republic of Serbia Tomislav Nikolic to the Republic of Belarus, in March 2013, was identified by both sides as the beginning of a new phase in the relations between our two countries.
