Snezana JankovicState Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Dr Snezana Jankovic received the Co-Rapporteurs of the Monitoring Committee of the Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly (PACE), Messrs Davit Harutyuniyan and Indrek Saar, who were visiting Serbia, on 26 November 2013.

Cooperation between the Republic of Serbia and the Council of Europe (CoE) was assessed as being very good, including the progress of Serbia in fulfilling its obligations in relation to the CoE, which was of relevance also in the context of our European integration process.

State Secretary Dr Jankovic stressed the commitment of Serbia to respect the obligations undertaken upon its admission to CoE membership. The State Secretary pointed out that anti-corruption efforts and improved efficiency and efficacy of the judiciary, to which the CoE and PACE attached particular significance, were at the same time issues that had a direct bearing upon the citizens of our country, and that progress made in these fields would be evaluated in our EU membership talks as well.

The Co-Rapporteurs of PACE commended the efforts Serbia invested in the European integration process and supported the use made of CoE institutions in the process.
