Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivan Mrkic met today Hoyt Yee, US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Central and Southeast Europe, in the framework of his first visit to Belgrade since his recent appointment to the office.
In a candid conversation, views were exchanged on issues of interest to the promotion of bilateral relations and the current situation in the Western Balkan region. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State stressed the importance of Serbia's responsible approach to the implementation of the agreement between Belgrade and Pristina and the support of the US to Serbia's European integration. Minister Mrkic expressed satisfaction with the upward trend in bilateral relations and stressed the importance which Serbia attached to their further strengthening. He informed his interlocutor about the activities which the Government of the Republic of Serbia was taking towards the successful implementation of the Brussels Agreement and emphasized Serbia's commitment to full stabilization of the situation in the Western Balkans. |
