Serbian Foreign Minister Ivan Mrkic received a delegation of the French Senate European Affairs Committee, which is visiting Serbia from 4-6 November 2013 at the invitation of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia. The delegation comprises Committee Chairman Simon Sutour, Vice-Chairman Michel Billout and Committee member Sophie Joissains.

During the friendly conversation, they discussed the current issues concerning bilateral relations and European integration, and the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue, with particular emphasis on the recently held local elections in Kosovo and Metohija. Minister Mrkic thanked Senator Sutour for launching an initiative that led to the unanimous adoption by the French Senate of a resolution supporting Serbia's EU integration, on 16 October 2013. Views were also exchanged on the current state of relations and cooperation in the Western Balkan region.
