Foreign Minister Ivan Mrkic received Peter Due, the newly appointed Head of the UN Office in Belgrade (UNOB), who underlined UN readiness to cooperate with R. Serbia on projects of global importance.

Peter Due commended the participation of members of the Interior Ministry and the Serbian Armed Forces in the peace-keeping operations under the UN auspices, expressing the hope that this type of cooperation would be further intensified.

Minister Mrkic agreed with his guest's assessment that Serbia had the capacities for strengthening this cooperation. At the same time, Ivan Mrkic took the opportunity to inform Due of the growing obstructions by Pristina of the electoral process and added that Serbia acted in a responsible way, but that it expected assistance of the international factors by ensuring that the other side abided by the reached agreements.
