Mrkic - DassuThe Third joint meeting between the Governments of Serbia and Italy will be held on 15 October 2013, in Ancona, announced Serbian Foreign Minister Ivan Mrkic and Italian Deputy Foreign Minister Marta Dassu.
"This third joint meeting is yet another confirmation of the close relations and friendship between the two countries", Mrkic said at the joint press conference following his talks with Dassu.
The Italian official agreed that Serbia and Italy were tied by solid and strong relations.
Dassu assessed that the coming summit of the two Governments would "further seal the relations and everything that has been achieved so far".
Dassu further said that Italy was watching closely the process of Serbia's EU integration, particularly in view of the fact that it would assume the EU Presidency in the second half of next year.
"Together, we will be able to traverse part of the European path. It will be an important year for Serbia, but for Italy as well", stated Dassu.
Dassu added that Mrkic also informed her on the package of structural reform measures.
She said that these reforms were very important as they would enable the improvement of the business environment and the climate for investments, including the Italian ones.
According to Dassu, reforms were significant also in terms of reaching an agreement with IMF which, she said, was extremely important for Italy.
