Serbia is sending out a message that it wishes to implement what it has agreed to in the Brussels Agreement, but requests that both sides abide by every letter of the agreement, said Serbian Foreign Minister Ivan Mrkic during the UNGA in New York.
"Both sides must respect every letter of the Agreement and that must be confirmed in practice, on a daily basis, so that we can move forward", Mrkic said. When asked where Serbia was today, Mrkic said that the reply to that question was given by EU High Representative Catherine Ashton. According to Mrkic, Ashton assessed that Serbia was, practically, already in the European family. "We are now doing what is necessary in order to align ourselves with the standards respected by all members of the family", Mrkic explained. Mrkic was a member of the delegation, headed by Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic, attending the UN General Assembly session. |
