Following the incidents in Croatia, which occurred because of the bilingual signs containing both Latin and Cyrillic scripts on government institutions, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia intervened first in the talk with Croatian Ambassador to Serbia Gordan Markotic, and then with official Zagreb and the European institutions in Brussels and Strasbourg.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs drew the attention of all of them to the impermissible acts by extremist groups in Croatia which, as we underlined, brutally insulted the culture of the Serbian minority in Croatia and were acting from the position of the Ustasha movement.
