“Guitar Art Summer Fest” opens in Herceg Novi

guitar festThe 8th Guitar Art Summer Fest began with No Borders Orchestra gala concert, conducted by Premil Petrovic, in Herceg Novi, on 15 August 2013. The band included professional musicians from the former Yugoslavia, accompanied by the famous Montenegrin guitarist Milos Karadaglic as a solo performer.
In his opening address at the ceremony, the director of the Guitar Art Summer Fest, Bosko Radojkovic, extended special thanks to the Municipality of Herceg Novi, local Tourist Organization, Serbian Consulate General in Herceg Novi and to the Embassy of Brazil for their support to the festival. He pointed out that for the past seven years the festival had proved to be an important event promoting guitar playing and that he personally was delighted that Herceg Novi had been chosen as the venue of the Guitar Art Summer Fest" because it was a town where he had always felt at home.
The importance of the festival in Herceg Novi and its cultural promotion were echoed in the speech by the Mayor of Herceg Novi, Dejan Mandic, who opened the festival.
The performance of No Borders Orchestra conducted by Premil Petrovic caused great interest among the residents of Herceg Novi and tourists.
The Guitar Art Summer Fest will run until 20 August and famous guitarists from Croatia, Brazil, Slovenia, Serbia, USA and Montenegro will perform at the next festival evening concerts. Maja Radovanlija, who will present Serbian guitar art, will play on Monday 19 August.
