On the occasion of the 631st anniversary of Herceg Novi and the Patron Saint's Day of the city's founder, the Consulate General in Herceg Novi, in cooperation with the Municipality of Herceg Novi, organized a gala concert by Divna Ljubojevic and Melodi in the courtyard of the Savina monastery, on 14 August 2013. It is one of the cultural events traditionally hosted by the Consulate General since its establishment in 2011, as our gift to the residents of Herceg Novi.
A soloist Divna Ljubojevic accompanied by the Melodi Choir and Studio for Spiritual Music were introduced to the Herceg Novi music lovers for the first time this year. They played a repertoire of spiritual music by which they are known all over the world (more on the performers at http://www.divna-melody.com/).
The audience was addressed first by Mayor Dejan Mandic, followed by Consul General Marina Jovicevic who pointed out in her speech that "although, in this short span of time, we organized more than fifty various cultural events throughout Bokakotorska Bay, we remained very much attached to this concert in particular, which we organized together with the Municipality of Herceg Novi, on the eve of the feast of transfer of the relics of St. First Martyr and Archdeacon Stefan, at this holy place - in the courtyard of the Monastery of Savina".
The concert was attended by a large number of church dignitaries, representatives of the city administration and local cultural institutions. The whole event was covered by "Novi TV".
