![]() Wreaths were laid by representatives of 23 countries, and the event was attended by Consuls General of France, Russia, Italy, Poland, Israel and Hungary. Of the former Yugoslav Republics, wreaths were laid also by Slovenia and Croatia whose Consuls attended the event. The commemoration was attended, as every year, also by representatives of the European Parliament (Bemd Posselt, MP), Federal and Bavarian Parliaments, Government Office, religious communities and other institutions. The participants were addressed by Director of Memorial Center Flossenbürg Dr. Jorg Skriebeleit, Director of the Bavarian Memorials Foundation Karl Freller, Consul General of France Emmanuel Claude Cohet and former internee from Hungary Stefan Hajdu. This year again, the commemoration was attended by Ljubisa Letic from Serbia, introduced as the last living internee from the former Yugoslavia. At a traditional meeting of former detainees, following the commemoration, Vice-Consul B. Celik-Jeftic, met with Ljubisa Letic and the representatives of the local Association for the documentation on Hersbruck concentration camp (one of Flosenbürg auxiliary camps) and representatives of the Evangelical Church, who organized Ljubisa Letic's travel and visit to Germany. |
