220px-Knez Lazar HrebeljanovicThe Church School of "St. Sava" and the Serbian Orthodox Church "St. Sava" in Canberra held, on 30 June 2013, a church memorial service to all those who gave their lives for the faith and the fatherland, followed by a gala St. Vitus Day Academy which was attended by around a hundred representatives of the Serbian diaspora living in Canberra.
To celebrate this important feast in the church calendar, Priest Goran Cecez welcomed the guests, including the representatives of the Embassy of Serbia and recalled the importance of this holiday, as well as the difficulties that dogged and still dog the Serbian people throughout its history, especially in Kosovo and Metohija, with the hope and faith that better times are ahead of us if our people renew the faith in God, and establish a strong moral and national unity.
St. Vitus Day Academy ended with a formal lunch and a short cultural and artistic programme of a religious and patriotic nature.
