An evening of poetry at the Consulate General in Banja Luka

banja luka 03An evening of poetry with the theme of homeland was held in the premises of the Consulate General, in cooperation with the Association "Sa Ovcara i Kablara" from Banja Luka, on 1 July 2013. Poets from the Republic of Serbia (Milenko Pajic and Atanasije Savic) and the Republic of Srpska (Zoran Kostic, Mirko Vukovic, Boro Kapetanovic, Branimir Krsic, Mirko Ljubanic, Olivera Stankovic, Miroslav Vesic and Milenko Gemaljevic) took part in the event.

In the presence of more than one hundred visitors, these ten prose writers presented their vision of the homeland and their own ties with the area they come from, through different forms and compositions of verse or prose poems.

Opening the event, the Consul General V. Nikolic said that, among other things, the purpose of these and similar events, which the Consulate General in Banja Luka would organize in the future, was the better understanding and rapprochement between Serbia and Srpska.

A significant number of prominent representatives of public and cultural life, such as the Minister of Culture and Education of the Republic of Srpska Goran Mutabdzija, attended the event which was also covered by the representatives of all the relevant media.
