Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Security Policy Miomir Udovicki visited, on 13 June 2013, Helsinki where he had bilateral consultations on security issues with Director General for Political Affairs in the Finnish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Kirsti Kauppi. The two sides discussed Serbia's cooperation with the EU through the European security and defence policy, with NATO through PfP mechanisms, Serbia's OSCE Chairmanship-in-Office in 2015, regional security cooperation, cyber and energy security, as well as pressing international issues (situation in the Middle East, etc.). The two sides agreed on the specific steps to be taken in their further cooperation.
Ambassador Kauppi congratulated Serbia on reaching the Brussels Agreement and expressed her hope that Serbia would be granted the date for opening its negotiations with the EU.
