Serbian Foreign Minister Ivan Mrkic delivered, today, diplomatic passports to the best Serbian waterpolo players Vanja Udovicic and Filip Filipovic.
Filipovic and Udovicic thanked Minister Mrkic and the entire country for the honour bestowed on them and for recognition of their quality and the value of sport. "This is one of the honours which has no sports value, but which is the result of all the achievements we have made thus far. Thank you to the country which has recognized the value of sport and all that Udovicic and I have done. We will live up to the trust placed in us as goodwill ambassadors", said Filipovic to the journalists following the ceremony of receiving diplomatic passports. Udovicic agreed with him that this was an exceptional honour and was thankful for the true values being recognized. "With this gesture, we are sending a message to young people and children to succeed us one day", said Udovicic. He added that Filipovic and he wished to present to the world a picture of Serbia and that he thought that they had done it the right way. In his words, this was a message to young people that they should believe in themselves and be what they are. As Serbia's goodwill ambassadors, Udovicic and Filipovic will contribute to the reputation of Serbia in the world and represent it in the best possible way. |
