Prof.Dr. Zavisa Janjic has received the prestigious International award in the field of meteorological science

zavisa janjicAt a ceremony held at the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), on 22 May 2013, Prof. Dr. Zavisa Janjic, Serbian and American national, living in the USA since 1997, was awarded the international award in the field of meteorological science. He was nominated for the award by Serbian HMI with the support of the U.S. National Weather Service. 

This award is the most prestigious award in this field.

D. Grimes (Canada), President of the Congress and the WMO Executive Council, M. Jarraud (France), Secretary General of the WMO, Mrs. B. King, U.S. Ambassador to the UN in Geneva, and Prof. Dr. J. Nikolic, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Serbia to the WMO spoke on that occasion, at the formal meeting of the WMO Executive Council.

After the formal meeting, a reception was held at the premises of the U.S. Mission hosted by the WMO and the Missions of the US and the Republic of Serbia to the UN Office in Geneva.
