Bratislava: "Scientific Support to the Danube Strategy" Conference

danubeThe International Conference "Scientific Support to the Danube Strategy" was held in Bratislava on 16 May 2013. Representatives of countries of the Danube Region, scientific community, industry and the European Union participated in the conference. The conference, organized by the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission, was launched by the Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic R. Fico and Vice President of the European Commission M. Šefčovič and attended by all ambassadors of the countries included in the Danube Strategy, except the Hungarian Ambassador. 

Innovation and specialization in the countries of the region, as well as ensuring efficient and sustainable use of the Danube region resources were topics discussed at the conference. Projects on smart specialization in the region and establishing infrastructure for reference data and services were presented during the first session, while the work of most prominent clusters in the region was presented during the second session.

Conference presentations of the Rector of the Novi Sad University M. Vesković and State Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development R. Mitrović received much attention.
