Ivan MrkicSerbian Foreign Minister Ivan Mrkić stated that all disagreements between Serbia and Lithuania, after today's visit of the Serbian delegation headed by Prime Minister Ivica Dacic, were left behind and that the talks were focused on future cooperation.
"The Prime Minister of Serbia has had meetings today with all most important officials of the Lithuanian state, which is friendly to us, and with which we have had some disputes and disagreements in the recent past, but which are definitely left behind us after this visit," said Mrkić.
Minister Mrkić had a separate meeting with the Lithuanian Foreign Minister Linas Linkevičius, and after the meeting he described the relations between the two countries as "very good, cordial," pointing out that "all issues have been covered from the point of view of how we will continue to cooperate in the future."
"As far as 'the famous Agreement' (the Stabilisation and Association Agreement with the EU), yet to be ratified by Lithuania, is concerned, we have been assured and we are certain that it will happen very soon," said the Serbian Minister and specified: "Having entered the parliamentary procedure, we have been assured that it will be very soon put on the agenda and voted down. These are the assessments made by the major political figures in Lithuania. "
Mrkić and Linkevičius signed earlier today a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the context of European integration.
