Mrkic-Lagumdzija_1Path towards the European Union is a common problem for Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina and the two countries should "race" each other but also help each other on that way, said today the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the two countries Ivan Mrkic and Zlatko Lagumdzija.
"Both Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina wish to become EU members. There are occasional hiccups in that process, but it seems to me that we are not always the most responsible ones for it", stated Minister Mrkic at a joint news conference with Minister Lagumdzija. He said that he discussed with his BiH counterpart the implementation of the Action Plan on European Integration under the Memorandum of Understanding signed on 27 December last, during his visit to Sarajevo. He added that there would be many more meetings devoted to that subject-matter.
"Serbia and Bosnia and Hercegovina wish each other the fastest possible road to the EU", said Minister Lagumdzija. He also said that the two countries should first turn to themselves and then to each other "running a race all the way to Brussels".
Minister Mrkic added to this that in their European integration processes, Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina should not only race each other but help each other, as well.
