"The Tribunal was established in order to reconcile the peoples that used to live within the boundaries of a sovereign state and punish individuals, so as not to apportion blame to the peoples collectively. However, quite the opposite has taken place, which may not easily lead up to reconciliation: the Tribunal has turned into its contradiction".
The Serbian Foreign Minister stressed that that Serbia continued to expect that the convicted members of the Serbian nation would be allowed to serve their prison terms at home, on humanitarian grounds. We wanted to send out the message to the world Organization that such mechanisms should serve the purpose of genuine reconciliation and justice, so that each side may feel the same level of satisfaction or dissatisfaction. But this has not happened in the operation of the Hague Tribunal".
