Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivan Mrkic received today the Secretary General of the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC) Goran Svilanovic.

Minister Mrkic pointed to the consistent and strong commitment of the Republic of Serbia to developing regional cooperation. Serbia supports an active role played by the RCC in the implementation and promotion of the project-oriented cooperation in areas of common regional interest.

They both recognized the need for further encouraging economic development through regional actions.

RCC Secretary General Svilanovic expressed his belief that the dynamic of economic cooperation would be stepped up upon the adoption of the RCC Strategy and its Work Programme for the period 2014-2016, as well as the Strategy for South East Europe 2020.

In addition, RCC Secretary General Svilanovic underscored the important efforts of the RCC in positioning the countries of the SEE region, and in maintaining the continued dialogue with representative of EU institutions.
