In the talks with the UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon we looked back on the observations we made in public regarding the report discussed yesterday in the UN Security Council but now in more detail and openly. We are not satisfied with various sections of the report which does not really reflect the life in Kosovo and Metohija and how it is to be a Serb there and to wake up where he went to sleep. We have agreed that the report has to be more realistic in future. We call for as strong as possible UN presence there and we have asked the UN Secretary-General to be fully engaged to that effect.
We have spoken again about the notorious so called judgement of the Hague Tribunal passed on the two generals of Croatia (it can be hardly called the judgement). We have conveyed our sentiments and how much they were grounded. Should this be repeated, we really need to ask ourselves if we overdid it in the cooperation with such an institution for it turns out that only Serbs have been punished and not a single Croat found guilty of crimes. The Secretary-General and the members of his delegation had great understanding for these observations. They told us they would not like to interfere with the so-called independence of the judiciary but at the same time they sympathize with our victims.
We have also talked about the actions that Serbia intends to take in the future and informed of the situation in the region – the development of cooperation with our neighbours and countries of our region as well as of the political dialogue held so far between the Republic of Serbia and Pristina.
