Mrkic - Azimov_1Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivan Mrkic met today with the Deputy Foreign Minister for Security Affairs and Foreign Policy Planning of Azerbaijan Araz Azimov, who headed the delegation to the bilateral consultations with the Republic of Serbia in the field of security policy, in Belgrade.

Minister Mrkić stressed that the Government of the Republic of Serbia is committed to further developing and strengthening the relations and ties with Azerbaijan in all areas of cooperation.

Minister Mrkić conveyed his gratitude for the support of Baku in the preservation of the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the Republic of Serbia and stressed that Belgrade in turn supports the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan.

Deputy Foreign Minister Araz Azimov underlined that Azerbaijan expressed the principled support of the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Serbia. He emphasized the willingness to further strengthen political and economic relations, especially in the energy sector. He stressed that Baku sees Belgrade as a strategic partner in the Western Balkan region.
