MFA Mrkic Meets With New German Ambassador H. Wilhelm |

Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivan Mrkic met today with the new Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany, Heinz Wilhelm, and wished him success in the discharge of his responsible duties in Belgrade.
Minister Mrkic expressed his conviction that, during his mandate, the cooperation between Serbia and Germany would be further intensified in all areas, particularly in view of the fact that Germany is Serbia's major trading partner, and pointed out the importance and the role played by Berlin in the European Union. Minister Mrkic underlined that Serbia and Germany share common values and that Belgrade expected the understanding of Berlin and counted on its support for Serbia's full membership of the European Union. Ambassador Wilhelm emphasized that Serbia belonged in Europe and that without Serbia the European Union would not be complete. He further stressed that Berlin would continue to support Belgrade in its European integration process and expressed his readiness to contribute to the further strengthening of the all-round relations between the two countries. |
