MFA Mrkic Having Bilateral Meetings on the Eve of the 67th UN General Assembly in New York

Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivan Mrkic, on the first day of his visit to New York, had a number of bilateral meetings ahead of the opening of the general debate at the 67th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, as part of the Serbian delegation headed by President Tomislav Nikolic.

Minister Mrkic met yesterday with Finnish Foreign Minister Erkki Tuomioja, Greek Minister Dimitris Avramopoulos, Swedish Minister Carl Bildt, and with Croatian Minister Vesna Pusic.

In all these meetings it was commonly assessed that bilateral relations were good, and that they had a significant potential for deepening and broadening of cooperation.

Minister Mrkic received strong assurances from all his counterparts that Serbia would continue to enjoy their support on the road to European integration.

Minister Mrkic also attended yesterday the ECOSOC Ministerial Meeting as well as the bilateral meetings of President Nikolic with the President of Cyprus Dimitris Christofias and UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.
