![]() Ministers Dacic and Stefanovic have considered the steps taken so far by the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of the Interior, as well as by other state authorities, as the Republic of Serbia seeks to prevent the so-called Kosovo from becoming a member of the International Police Organization.
It was agreed that as a first step everyone should be informed that Kosovo's admission would be contrary to UN Security Council Resolution 1244 (1999), including the "Corell resolution" adopted at the Interpol General Assembly in Beijing, which clearly defined that only Member States or observers at the United Nations can be members of this police organization, which is certainly not the case with the so-called Kosovo. Ministers Dacic and Stefanovic also agreed that it was also necessary to inform everyone of the dangers that may occur in case Interpol bases are misused and should classified information fall into the hands of criminals and terrorists, which would endanger the activities of all law-enforcement agencies throughout the world. |
