Statement by First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic |

![]() By this act, Croatia has once again cast a pall of relativity over horrific genocidal crimes committed by the Independent State of Croatia in World War II, sending more than a menacing message to the remaining Serbs in Croatia. This "compromise" Council's solution, openly flirting with representatives of Croatia's neo-fascist right, is not only legally and logically inexplicable and unsustainable, but also politically unacceptable, in the 21st century. Can anyone in Germany, in their right minds, fathom a meeting organized to commemorate members of Wehrmacht or SS units, opening with "Sieg Heil" salute? Since we all know the answer to this question, I once again call on representatives of the international community, primarily senior officials of the EU, to use their leverage in order that Croatia, as an EU Member State and part of the civilized world, eventually starts behaving properly. |
