Visits
Visits and meetings in 2017
- On 6 December 2017, a trilateral meeting between R. Serbia, Bosnia-Herzegovina and R. Turkey was held in Belgrade, at the level of the three countries' Foreign Ministers. The visit by Minister of Foreign Affairs of R. Turkey Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu to Belgrade on the occasion was used as an opportunity to hold a meeting with President of R. Serbia Aleksandar Vucic.
- Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of R. Turkey İsmail Kahraman visited R. Serbia on 23-24 October 2017.
- At the invitation of President Aleksandar Vucic, President of R. Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan paid an official visit to R. Serbia on 10-11 October 2017. During the visit, on 10 October, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic had talks with Minister of Foreign Affairs Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu and Minister for EU Affairs Ömer Çelik, who were on the delegation led by the President of Turkey.
- President Aleksandar Vucic and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan met at the margins of the UN General Assembly in New York, on 21 September 2017.
- Trilateral meeting of the Foreign Ministers of R. Serbia, Bosnia-Herzegovina and R. Turkey took place in the margins of the 72nd Session of the UN General Assembly in New York on 21 September 2017.
- Minister of Food, Agriculture and Livestock Ahmet Eşref Fakıbaba was on a working visit to R. Serbia on 21-22 August, at the invitation of Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Branislav Nedimovic. On this occasion, the Turkish Minister also had meetings with President Aleksandar Vucic, Prime Minister Ana Brnabic and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Rasim Ljajic.
- President of R. Serbia Aleksandar Vucic, accompanied by Minister of Mining and Energy Aleksandar Antic, participated in the 22nd World Petroleum Congress in Istanbul, on 9-10 July 2017. On the fringes of the event, he met with President of R. Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
- On 24 June 2017, Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of R. Turkey İsmail Kahraman had talks with President Aleksandar Vucic in Belgrade and previously, on 23 June 2017, Mr. Kahraman attended the formal reception on the occasion of the inauguration of President Aleksandar Vucic.
- During the participation of First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic at the 36th Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC), held in Istanbul on 21-22 May 2017, a meeting was held between the Serbian Foreign Minister and President of R. Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
- Then Prime Minister of R. Serbia Aleksandar Vucic met with President of R. Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in Beijing, on 13 May 2017, at the margins of the Belt and Road Forum.
Visits and meetings in 2016
- On 5 October 2016, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic was on an official visit to R. Turkey. On that occasion, Minister Dacic met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of R. Turkey Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, as well as Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım and Deputy Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of R. Turkey A. Hamzaçebi.
- Trilateral meeting of the Foreign Ministers of R. Serbia, Bosnia-Herzegovina and R. Turkey was held in the margins of the 71st Session of the UN General Assembly in New York on 23 September 2016.
Visits and meetings in 2015
- On 28-29 December 2015, Prime Minister of R. Turkey Ahmet Davutoğlu was on an official visit to R. Serbia, at the invitation of Prime Minister of R. Serbia Aleksandar Vucic. During the visit, Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu had talks with President of R. Serbia Tomislav Nikolic and Speaker of the National Assembly of R. Serbia Maja Gojkovic. On 28 December 2015, First DPM and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic had talks with Foreign Minister of R. Turkey Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu in Belgrade, who was on the delegation led by Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu.
- On 24 April 2015, First DPM and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic attended commemorative events marking the centenary of Gallipoli landings and the naval battles (Çanakkale).
- Speaker of the National Assembly of R. Serbia Maja Gojkovic was on a visit to R. Turkey from 13-15 April 2015, at the invitation of Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of R. Turkey C. Çiçek.
Economic relations:
Overall trade in goods has been marked by a constant rise. Between January and October 2017, Serbian exports to R. Turkey amounted to EUR 237.8 million, and imports from R. Turkey to R. Serbia amounted to EUR 587.9 million. In 2016, exports from R. Serbia to R. Turkey amounted to EUR 243.4 million, and imports from R. Turkey to R. Serbia amounted to EUR 603.6 million.
During the visit by President of R. Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to R. Serbia, on 10-11 October 2017, several projects were agreed with funding for their realization provided by TİKA, while new projects of this Turkish agency were also announced.
Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) donated EUR 860,000 for the purposes of reconstruction and refurbishment of the premises of the Higher Court in Novi Pazar (the protocol was signed on 23 June 2017).
Furthermore, with the aim of overcoming the consequences of floods which struck R. Serbia in 2014, R. Turkey provided humanitarian relief as well as support through donations amounting to EUR 1,350,000.
