Conference of Honorary Consuls of the Republic of Serbia convenes in Belgrade

konferencija poc._konzulaAt the invitation of First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic, the first Conference of Honorary Consuls of the Republic of Serbia was held in Belgrade, on 13 June 2015.

The Conference was attended by 34 out of a total of 72 honorary consuls of the Republic of Serbia in foreign countries.

Honorary consuls of the Republic of Serbia were addressed by Prime Minister of R. Serbia Aleksandar Vucic; First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic; Minister of Economy Zeljko Sertic, and representatives from the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunication, Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection, the Serbian Chamber of Commerce and the Serbian Investment and Export Promotion Agency (SIEPA).

The main theme of the Conference was strengthening the activity of honorary consuls in the implementation of the policy and interests of the Republic of Serbia in international relations and support to the promotion of Serbian exports and attraction of foreign investments.

The Conference of Honorary Consuls of the Republic of Serbia, held for the first time in the history of Serbian diplomacy, agreed that it was necessary to establish an Association of Honorary Consuls of R. Serbia, promote the political and economic cooperation with the states where Serbia is represented by honorary consuls and to continue, whenever possible, the process of visa liberalization aimed at attracting foreign investments and visitors.

The First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia, Ivica Dacic, made the following statement to the Conference of Honorary Consuls of the Republic of Serbia held in Belgrade.
