The exhibition of the Historical Museum of Serbia entitled "Serbia: 1914, the role of women in the Great War" was inaugurated, in cooperation with the Institute for the cooperation and collaboration of the Province of Tucuman (IPACyM), at the premises of the French society in Tucuman, on Armistice Day.

The exhibition was opened by Director of the French Association Gerardo Isas, Director of IPACyM Regino Racedo and Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia in Argentina Jela Bacovic.

Ambassador Bacovic pointed out in her speech that during the Great War, more than half of the Serbian male population lost their lives, which is why women played a special role in society. She stressed the importance of this exhibition, specific for representing a woman's character, different roles and the forgotten importance of women during WWI, and the fact that the issue of women suffrage was still as topical as before. Ambassador Bacovic dedicated a significant portion of her speech to the character and actions of heroine Milunka Savic, as well as to other women whose characters were presented at the exhibition.
