Budapest: Month of Serbian Culture in Hungary

20160910 185956The seventh "Month of Serbian Culture in Hungary" was officially inaugurated in Deszk, a border town situated on the tripoint between Serbia, Hungary and Romania, on 10 September 2016.

Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia in Budapest Rade Drobac praised the fact that, for the first time, the event had been taking place outside Budapest, highlighting that culture was a significant factor of preserving a people's identity, and the best bridge for establishing cooperation with other nations. On behalf of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, Mr. Nenad Ivanisevic, State Secretary at the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Policy, lent his support to the traditional Serbs' event in Hungary. Along with the presence of numerous participants and spectators, the "Month of Serbian Culture in Hungary" was inaugurated by the aywar-cooking contest and a parade of culture and arts associations from across Hungary. The event will last until 10 October, and will encompass all the segments of the Serbian culture, tradition and contemporary human creativity, while a diversified culture and arts programme will be presented in many cities across Hungary: Budapest, Lórév, Pomáz, Deszk, Hercegszántó...
