matica crna_goraAmbassador of the Republic of Serbia to Montenegro Zoran Bingulac visited the premises of Matica Srpska (Serbian Cultural Institute) - Association of members in Montenegro, and on that occasion met with the Association President, Dr Drago Perovic and his associates.

The Association representatives briefed the Ambassador on the activities of the organization in Montenegro, which are primarily directed at fostering, developing and promoting the Serbian language and culture. The Association is engaged in scientific research, publishing and archiving, and since its establishment in 2010, it implemented more than a hundred cultural and scientific projects. In addition to literary and scientific discussions, a large number of book launches, exhibitions, film programmes devoted to Serbian cinematography, were organized.

In this regard, they wish to continue the cooperation with the Embassy of Serbia in Podgorica, which has so far taken part in organizing these events and finding sponsors for many of them. They reiterated that the top Serbian officials - President Tomislav Nikolic, Prime Minister Ivica Dacic and Foreign Minister Ivan Mrkic visited the Association of members of the Matica Srpska of Montenegro and gave their support to the activities of the Association.

Ambassador Bingulac said that he highly appreciated the activities of the Association in promoting Serbian culture and language, and that the Embassy would continue to work closely with the Association, i.e. to support the implementation of planned activities, within its capabilities and competences.
