Naive Painters from Kovacica on display in Ljubljana

moja kovacicaThe exhibition of paintings "Naive Painters from Kovacica", Vojvodina, was formally opened under the sponsorship of the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in the Republic of Slovenia, organized by the Cultural Society "Mihajlo Pupin", Ljubljana, in the atrium of the Research Centre, Ljubljana, on Saturday 10 August 2013. The exhibition included more than 20 painters from Kovacica, who are famous world-wide for their authentic paintings, dominated by motifs inspired by everyday life in and around Kovacica.
Kovacica Municipality, in cooperation with the Cultural Society "Mihajlo Pupin" from Ljubljana, sprang a pleasant surprise on naive art lovers by organizing this first exhibition.
The exhibition of naive artists was officially inaugurated by Her Excellency Dr. Mariana Oravcova, Ambassador of the Slovak Republic in Ljubljana; the opening speech was made by the President of the "Mihajlo Pupin" Cultural Society, Ms. Divna Obrenovic.
The opening of the exhibition was attended by many distinguished guests from Ljubljana, presidents of cultural associations and by Ms. Katarina Tomic, on behalf of the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Ljubljana.
