Minister Dacic confers with the new Head of the Council of Europe Office in Belgrade

Ivica Dacic with Mr Tobias FlessenkemperFirst Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic has received today a courtesy call from Mr Tobias Flessenkemper, the new Head of the Council of Europe Office in Belgrade, and wished him every success in his new post.


Minister Dacic said that the cooperation with the Office of the Council of Europe in Belgrade was very good so far, expressing the expectation that good cooperation between the Republic of Serbia and the Council of Europe would be continued during the tenure of Mr Fleesenkemper. He emphasized that in the last 15 years, since Serbia's accession to the CoE, significant progress had been made and that Serbia fulfilled almost all undertaken commitments.

The Head of Serbian diplomacy underlined Serbia's full commitment to the EU integration process and stressed that it would continue to implement reforms in the fields of human rights, democracy and the rule of law, on its European path. He also emphasized that the contribution and assistance of the Council of Europe was of immeasurable significance in that regard.

The two sides also discussed cooperation between the Republic of Serbia and the Council of Europe on joint programmes, as well as future activities on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Council of Europe, the central commemoration of which was planned to take place in the autumn of 2019.
