MrkicMinister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivan Mrkic received today the Parliamentary Senior Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, Nobuo Kishi.

During the talks, mutual interest was underlined for promoting the overall bilateral relations and views were exchanged on international issues of concern to both countries. Minister Mrkic expressed his gratitude for the humanitarian, development and technical assistance that Japan had provided to Serbia so far. Foreign Minister Mrkic emphasized that the Republic of Serbia would be interested in promoting its economic cooperation with Japan and in the participation of Japanese corporations in the development projects in Serbia, particularly in the fields of infrastructure, car-making industry, clean technologies, electronics, and agriculture.

Minister Mrkic invited representatives of major Japanese companies to visit Serbia, in the framework of a business delegation, and see first-hand the business environment and investment opportunities existing in Serbia.

Parliamentary Senior Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs Nobuo Kishi expressed the readiness of Japan to further promote its bilateral relations with the Republic of Serbia, particularly in the economic area, and agreed that there existed mutual interest and need to intensify the presence of Japanese companies on the Serbian market.
