Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivan Mrkic attended the state funeral of former President of the Republic of Cyprus Glafcos Clerides, as member of the delegation headed by President of the Republic of Serbia Tomislav Nikolic.

Glafcos Clerides, who died age 94 on 15 November, was the President of Cyprus from 1993 until 2003 and significantly contributed to the development of bilateral relations between Serbia and Cyprus.

Minister Mrkic, on this occasion, participated in a meeting between President Nikolic and the incumbent President of Cyprus Nicos Anastasiades. President Nikolic also met with the Greek Prime Minister Antonis Samaras.

Minister Mrkic had separate meetings with former President of Cyprus Demetris Christofias, Cypriot Foreign Minister Yannis Kasulidis, Greek Foreign Minister Evangelos Venizelos and the Israeli Minister of Tourism Uzi Landau.
