Minister Dacic meets Special Assistant to US President Charles Kupchan

dacic kapchan_1582016First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic met today with Charles Kupchan, PhD, Special Assistant to the US President and Senior Director for European Affairs at the National Security Council.

Minister Dacic highlighted the extreme importance of tomorrow's visit of the United States Vice President Joseph Biden to the Republic of Serbia, in the context of enhancing overall bilateral relations and the upswing in the political dialogue between the two countries.

The Minister pointed out in particular the importance of the support that the United States lends to Serbia's European integration process and to the Brussels dialogue, expressing his hope that this trend would be maintained in the future as well.

Both the United States and Serbia attach profound importance to the preservation of regional stability of the Western Balkans. In this regard, the US side has recognized and encouraged Serbia's constructive role.

It was mutually noted that the economic cooperation between the two countries was very good, and that the potential for its further development was in evidence, primarily in the area of drawing new investments to Serbia.

The meeting was also attended by the US Ambassador to Serbia Kyle Scott.
