King’s College Defence Studies Department staff pay a visit to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

zgrada msp-aActing Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Ambassador Branimir Filipovic, has met today the representatives and students of the King's College Defence Studies Department of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. The College Delegation comprising 20 high-ranking officers from different countries of Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia and North and South America, including its representatives, are on a study visit to the region of the Western Balkans and Turkey, where, apart from representatives of state institutions, their interlocutors are also representatives of the media, think-tanks and international organizations.

Ambassador Branimir Filipovic presented the priorities of foreign and security policy of the Republic of Serbia and emphasized, in particular, the significance Serbia attaches to the preservation and strengthening of peace, cooperation and stability in the region, being the main prerequisites for securing economic and other perspective of each country in the Western Balkans and the region as a whole. Focus was also put on concrete issues of engagement of the Republic of Serbia in the context of the EU Common Security and Defence Policy, participation in multinational missions and operations under the EU and UN auspices, cooperation between Serbia and NATO within the Partnership for Peace Program which is in line with the proclaimed policy of military neutrality of Serbia as well as its overall contribution to the response to global security challenges and maintenance of international peace and security.
