Serbia - NATO cooperation activities presented at a briefing for media representatives

DUS 1612The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Serbia held a briefing for media representatives, on 7 July 2015 at the SAF Centre, with the aim of presenting the activities undertaken so far in Serbia –NATO cooperation, under the Partnership for Peace Programme, and particularly in the light of the implementation of the Individual Partnership Action Plan (IPAP) between the Republic of Serbia and NATO.

The MFA was represented by Acting Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Security Policy Ambassador Branimir Filipovic and Head of the NATO and PfP Department Dijana Ivancic, while Brig. Gen. Slobodan Joksimovic, Head of Strategic Planning Administration of the Defence Policy Sector and Head of the General Staff Planning and Development Administration Major Srdjan Glavonjic represented the Ministry of Defence.

Media representatives were briefed on the political, military, economic, scientific and other forms of cooperation between Serbia and NATO, envisaged under IPAP. Benefits that Serbia might draw from the implementation of the PfP mechanism, as well as from the Partnership for Peace (PfP) Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA) were particularly discussed in the briefing.
