Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivan Mrkic received today Chairman of the Israel - Serbia Friendship Association from Tel Aviv Michael Freund.

In a very friendly conversation, they exchanged views on how the friendship associations of the Serbian and Jewish peoples should connect and act both within their own countries and around the world.

On this occasion, Minister Mrkic said:
"Jews and Serbs are tied by unusual closeness that comes from their intertwined histories, martyrdom and mutual assistance. This history is a strong and reliable foundation of all the plans that we will pursue in the near and foreseeable future".
