altMinister of Foreign Affairs Nikola Selakovic met today in Sofia with Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov and discussed political, infrastructure and economic cooperation between the two states, but also the measures taken to combat Covid-19.
In the meeting, also attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ekaterina Zaharieva, the interlocutors noted that the excellent personal relations between Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and Bulgarian Prime Minister were of great importance for the bilateral cooperation between the two states, which still needed to be intensified through political dialogue at the level of foreign ministers.

Serbia attaches special importance to the further development of comprehensive bilateral relations with Bulgaria as a particularly important neighbour and a friendly country, in the spirit of mutual respect and close ties existing between the two peoples.

Minister Selakovic will later today meet with his Bulgarian counterpart Minister Zaharieva, at whose invitation he is paying a visit to Bulgaria.

The Serbian Foreign Minister began his visit to Bulgaria this morning with a tour of the St. Nedelya Church in Sofia, where he paid homage to the relics of Holy King Milutin and met with Chief Secretary of the Holy Synod of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church, Bishop Gerasim.

In the afternoon, he will also meet with President of the Republic of Bulgaria Rumen Radev.

Strict measures against coronavirus have been in place in Bulgaria, among other things, all catering facilities are closed until the end of the month, as are shopping malls.
