altSerbian Ambassador to Kenya Dragan Zupanjevac had talks with the newly appointed Director General for Bilateral Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kenya, Ambassador Galma Mukhe Boru. The two collocutors reaffirmed the historical friendship between the two countries dating back to the time of Kenya's struggle for independence and close cooperation within the Non-Aligned Movement.

Ambassador Boru expressed gratitude for the strong support of Serbia to Kenya's election as a non-permanent member of the Security Council and reiterated Kenya's principled position of commitment to the respect for international law and preservation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Serbia.

It was also agreed that next year should see more talks on reaching bilateral agreements, especially in the areas of defense, cooperation between diplomatic academies, avoidance of double taxation and encouragement and protection of investments.

The interlocutors pointed out that in the last three years there has been a dynamic exchange of bilateral visits including reciprocal visits by the Parliament Speakers of the two countries. They voiced hope that meetings will take place at the level of foreign ministers and the presidents of Serbia and Kenya in the coming period.
