In accordance with Article 49 of the Law on Foreign Affairs, the Diplomatic Academy organizes professional training and development of its staff, and the employees from other state administration bodies and public sector institutions, which have a developed international cooperation.

The core programme of the diplomatic-consular training for the employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs lasts for nine months, as well as the programme of professional development intended for the employees of other bodies. The courses are structured into three trimesters.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in accordance with the programme of professional development, annually makes recommendations on more specific terms and conditions for the application of candidates from other state bodies and institutions which imply:
  1. A recommendation from the institution where the candidate is employed
  2. University degree (minimum requirement- a 4-year course of study at the university level)
  3. 35 age limit
  4. Good command of the English language


The Ministry of Foreign Affairs selects the candidates, taking into consideration whether the aforementioned criteria are fulfilled, particularly the recommendation issued by an institution, and the results the candidate has achieved throughout the entry procedure.
